OUR SERVICES

Consultation

Our business operates to reward and provide a free service to growers who show commitment to us. Our agronomists are at your disposal to monitor crops for insect pests, disease, and weeds, and advise you of action to take to improve crop productivity. Their expertise is available for all aspects of crop production including variety selection, crop inputs, and smart management practices.

Farm Planning

An extension of our services offered include farm planning which provide our growers with a useful budget of all inputs for individual paddocks. Use of the Agworld product includes gross margins per ha and a solid guide for the season ahead. Covering all inputs from chemicals to harvesting and spraying applications with their respective costs provides accurate data for best management.

Nutrition

Without the correct nutrition, crops are destined to fall short of yield expectations. We offer granular and liquid forms of fertiliser and will provide you with advice on which products to choose and suitability for your soil and environmental conditions. We work hard in order to get the grower the best price in a fluctuating fertiliser market, so please contact us so we can secure your product when the time is right.

Soil Testing

In 2018 Cleve Rural Traders purchased a deep soil testing probe to improve the grower's ability to manage their soils and nutrition to the greatest benefit. We can test to 1300mm deep for purposes such as
 - Deep N (including Yield Prophet)
 - Soil nutrient analysis at depth (helps with prescribing fertiliser)
 - pH testing for lime requirements
 - Sample clay quality prior to delving, ripping or digging clay pits

Tissue Testing

In-crop tissue testing increases the growers understanding of what nutrients are required by the crop, and allows our agronomists to prescribe the correct fertiliser requirements. When used in conjunction with soil nutrient testing we can increase the accuracy and understanding of soil nutrient interactions and increase the growers productivity moving forward from season to season.

Trial Work

Cleve Rural hosts an extensive trial site each year which contain replicated plots of cereal, pulse and canola varieties as well as best management across nutrition, pesticide and other relevant practices. The site is targeted toward improving grower knowledge and confidence around best practice agronomy. Small plot demos also occur in paddock targeting various knowledge gaps.
